Our main service offering is private guided skiing; mostly backcountry ski touring and resort-accessed sidecountry. Japan Powder Connection is a registered Japanese company based in Niseko, operating tours all over Hokkaido. We are focused on meaningful, authentic guest experiences that cater to private groups by referral only. 

Our approach to guiding for the last 15-16 years is rooted in a profound respect for Hokkaido’s natural splendor and Japan’s rich cultural heritage. We are committed to enabling visitors to authentically connect with the local culture and vibe of Japan, while also skiing some of the deepest lightest powder of their lives. Tours include private transportation and guiding to wherever the snow is best and safe that day, taking into consideration your goals and desires, any lift pass deals you wish to use, etc. Tours are door-to-door, and if you want there to be a dinner plan, cultural stop, or trip to an onsen added in, we can definitely make that happen too. Lift tickets are not included, but the prices are reasonable, and we can get some deals. If you have backcountry or uphill capabilities or desires, we are here to help!

We can assist you with some of the details of your trip if you have questions about hotels, logistics, etc. Since we are not a travel agent, we provide you with unbiased suggestions and advice. 

As a preliminary packing list, you’ll maybe want to bring crampons and an ice axe for Yotei. Of course, bring your avalanche rescue gear, light gloves, low-light sunglasses and a maybe baseball cap or something for ascending on ski touring days (it snows here almost every single day) and your fattest pow skis that have touring bindings.
